Reports, decisions, and appeals

  1. Each account can report a comment once. Duplicate submissions do not increase its priority.
  2. Three unique reports flag a comment for priority review; reports never hide content automatically.
  3. A curator or administrator reviews the context and records a reason before hiding content or dismissing the reports.
  4. The comment author may submit one appeal for each hide decision. A different review can uphold or reverse the decision.

Reports and appeals are private between the reporter or author and the moderation team. Public readers see only whether a comment was hidden.
